A Fun Fact For You
Ever wonder what actually gets someone to walk through a church's doors for the first time? Researchers have looked into it, and the answer might surprise you. In one denominational survey, the two biggest reasons people gave for how they first heard about their church were someone they already knew telling them about it, and simply noticing the building as they passed by — those two reasons alone made up more than half of all responses, well ahead of ads, mailers, or websites. Other research backs this up: a personal invitation from a family member gets 67% of Americans to visit a church, and one from a friend or neighbor works on 63%. Turns out the most effective outreach tool has always just been a conversation.

Getting Ready For Wednesday Bible Study
This week's lesson is #17 in our Proverbs series, landing in Proverbs 4. Solomon is talking to his son about how choices — even small, easy-to-overlook ones — quietly set the direction of a life. He backs it up with some real stories, including a hard chapter out of his own father David's life. The main point is that guarding your heart matters, because that's where our choices actually start. It's worth taking time to think about a decision or two you're facing right now — the hope is you'll leave with a clearer way to work through it.
