New Sunday School Series Begins This Sunday

Can you trace the story of your faith?
Who first helped you understand the gospel? What has Christ changed in your life? Could you clearly share that story with someone else? And how can the faith that was invested in you become a lasting influence in another person?
Our new Sunday School series, Living Letters: A Christian Legacy, will help us answer those questions.
Over ten weeks, we will walk through the major chapters of a Christian life—salvation, transformation, testimony, church life, giving, discipleship, the Bible, prayer, and preparation for eternity. Each chapter will help you recognize what God has done in your life and become more intentional about passing that faith to others.
By the end of the series, you will have mapped the people and experiences that shaped your faith, put your own spiritual story into words, examined the legacy you are presently building, and identified practical ways to invest in someone else.
Join us this Sunday, July 19, at 10:00 a.m. for the introduction to Living Letters: A Christian Legacy.
Your faith has a story. This series will help you understand it, share it, and pass it on.

Sunday's Sermon Overview

The problems in our world can feel enormous. We may wonder what difference our faithfulness could possibly make when our part seems so small.
This Sunday’s sermon will help us answer that question. Noah lived in a world filled with violence and corruption. God did not make him responsible for fixing everything. He gave Noah a responsibility and called him to be faithful.
The same is true for us. Every person who faithfully attends, supports, prays for, gives to, and serves through SLBC is an important part of what God is accomplishing through our church. You may not always recognize the difference your faithfulness makes, but there are no insignificant roles in the work God has given us. Every part is important because every part helps SLBC continue proclaiming Christ, caring for people, and passing the faith to the next generation.
Join us Sunday, July 19, for Sermon 11 in The Bible Storyline. This message will help you understand why faithfully doing your part matters, even when the needs around us appear overwhelming.

Upcoming Surgery

Please pray for Linda as she prepares for knee-replacement surgery this Tuesday, July 21. Pray for a successful procedure, wisdom for her medical team, and strength and healing throughout her recovery.

The Bible Storyline - Lesson 11 - July 19, 2026 - Genesis 6
Join us Sunday, July 19, for Sermon 11 in *The Bible Storyline*.

When violence and corruption filled the earth, God did not call Noah to seize political power, control society, or become a celebrated cultural leader. He gave Noah a responsibility that must have seemed strangely small compared with the crisis surrounding him: build an ark.

What does Noah’s obedience teach the church about our mission in a troubled world? Join us as we study Genesis 6 and learn why faithfulness to what God has commanded matters more than worldly power, influence, or recognition.
